DC College Savings Plan

DC College Savings Plan

The DC College Savings Plan is a tax-advantaged 529 college savings investment plan (named after Section 529 of the Internal Revenue Code) offered by the District of Columbia Government. For more information on enrollment, visit the DC College Savings Plan website and select Enrollment or speak with a representative at 1-800-987-4859.

Federal and District Tax Benefits

The plan is designed to help families save for the higher education expenses of a designed beneficiary and is available to District residents as well as non-residents nationwide.  Residents, however, receive preferred pricing for participation and certain Federal and District tax benefits. For more information visit the DC College Savings Plan website and select Tax Benefits.

Investments

The DC College Savings Plan offers three different types of investments for your account contributions. For monthly investment performance, visit the DC College Savings Plan website and select Investment Options or Investment Performance.

Community Events

The Office of Finance and Treasury administers the program and Ascensus College Savings is the program manager. Representatives from Ascensus frequently attend community events throughout the District to explain the plan and its benefits. If you would like to invite a plan representative to your next meeting, please call you local Ascensus representative, David Rydzeski, at 571-565-5869 or submit a request online at www.dccollegesavings.com.
