(Washington DC) Chief Financial Officer Natwar M. Gandhi announced today the appointment of Pamela D. Graham as the interim chief financial officer for the District of Columbia Public Schools.
Graham began her career with the District government in 1986 as a budget analyst. In 1997, then-Chief Financial Officer Anthony A. Williams appointed her chief financial officer for the Department of Public Works. In 2002, Gandhi named Graham associate chief financial officer for the Government Services Cluster, where she was responsible for the financial performance of the Department of Public Works, Department of Transportation, Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of the Environment, Washington Metro Area Transit Authority, and the DC Energy Office.
Graham has a bachelor’s in business management from North Carolina State University and a bachelor’s in accounting and business administration from High Point College. She also completed the Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
Her professional affiliations include the Government Finance Officers Association, where she served as District chapter president in 2004, and membership in the National Forum for Black Public Administrators.
