The Office of Finance and Treasury's Unclaimed Property Unit collects and maintains personal assets that are considered lost or abandoned when an owner cannot be located after a specified period of time.

Through mailings and newspaper notices, they attempt to reunite this property with its rightful owners. While the unit successfully returns an average of $10 million a year, it would be interested in conducting an outreach program to improve public awareness of its efforts.
