The Department of For-Hire Vehicles provides licensing, adjudication, and enforcement services for drivers, taxicab companies/associations, limousine companies, and transportation network companies. DFHV also regulates food and parcel deliveries performed by Carriers-for-Hire. For District residents and visitors, the agency provides support such as lost and found assistance, passenger rights education, community outreach, and complaint resolution.
