Eric Balliet has more than 20 years of experience in public affairs and media relations, working for local and state governments as well as the federal government.

Balliet was appointed public affairs officer for the Office of the Chief Financial Officer in June 2025. In this role, he leads strategic communications, internal communications and outreach activities for the agency, ensuring key information is accessible, reliable and delivered through multiple communications channels.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a graduate certificate in public management from George Mason University.
