Ronald J. Pleasant is agency fiscal officer for the Department of Motor Vehicles. He collaborates with the agency director and senior program staff to develop and execute the agency’s $49-million operating budget and $6.8-million capital budget.
Pleasant began his District government career in March 2009 as a senior budget analyst. In this role, he supported the Department of Public Works’ Solid Waste Management Administration. He also led various initiatives to improve the agency’s financial processes, including designing/building automated tools to enhance the agency’s forecasting processes.
Prior to joining the District, he worked for several Fortune 50 companies, including Proctor & Gamble, Ford Motor Company and Motorola. Additionally, Pleasant has been a principal in several start-up ventures and has worked as a business process improvement consultant.
He earned a master’s of business administration with a concentration in entrepreneurship from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor's in finance from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.
