Kimberly Johnson-Miller

Kimberly Johnson-Miller joined DC government’s Office of the Chief Financial Officer as the agency fiscal officer for the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) in November 2021. As the AFO, Johnson-Miller is responsible for the overall financial management of DCPS’s operating budget, which totals $1.3 billion. She provides leadership and guides the budgeting and accounting operations, which include internal/external audit compliance functions.

Prior to joining OCFO-DCPS, Johnson-Miller served for 29 years in the federal government. She has worked at various federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of Energy, Veterans Health Administration, and the Office of Inspector General at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. She has served in a variety of senior-level positions in the financial, technical, and programmatic areas.

Johnson-Miller holds a master’s degree in accounting and financial management and a master’s degree in business administration from the Keller Graduate School of Management, Arlington Virginia. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

She is a native of Chicago and is a proud graduate of the Chicago Public School System.
