Since 2013, Dr. Kayleen Irizarry has served as chief of management operations (CMO) for the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. She is currently the CMO for the Education Cluster. Irizarry is the point-of-contact for continuous improvement, human capital, training, performance management, culture, and other administrative and operational support functions. Some of her accomplishments include overseeing the development and implementation of business enterprise solutions to enhance timeliness and accuracy; recording the chain of custody for various processes; and leading efforts to ensure operational policies are consistent with industry best practices.

Before joining the OCFO, Irizarry served as the assistant superintendent of Elementary and Secondary Education within the Office of the State Superintendent of Education, where she led efforts in developing and implementing policies and regulations, redesigning the statewide accountability system, and overseeing multiple federal initiatives. Prior to that, she led the Office of Grants Management and Administration at Chicago Public Schools, where she managed and provided guidance on the use of more than $1 billion in various federal and state-funded educational programs.

She received a doctorate in policy and program evaluation, a master's degree in policy, and a bachelor's in political science from the Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is also a certified public manager and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, obtained through The George Washington University’s Center for Excellence in Public Leadership.
