Curtis Lewis joined DMPED in April 2015 as the agency fiscal officer (AFO), where he is responsible for $694M in operating and capital budgets. Prior to joining DMPED, Curtis was the AFO for the District’s centralized fixed-cost portfolio under the Department of General Services and the Office of Finance and Resource Management, where he managed the budgeting, execution, reporting and cost allocation for more than $400 million in energy services, rents, and telecommunications for 87 District agencies.

Lewis has also served as the AFO officer for the Department of Employment Services, the Public Service Commission, and Office of the People’s Counsel. Prior to joining the District government, he held several executive-level financial and operating positions in the private and corporate sectors including the chief operating officer for Ellis Development (DC CBE) and manager of financial planning for Time Warner Cable.  

Lewis has master's of business administration, finance and real estate, from the American University, Kogod College of Business -- Washington, DC, and a bachelor's in banking and finance from Morehouse College, Atlanta, Ga. He is a fifth generation Washingtonian, a long-term resident of Ward 4, and a product of the DC Public School system.
