Enyew Godie is the agency fiscal officer for the Department of Buildings. Godie joined the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) in January 2007 as a contractor. He became a permanent employee of the OCFO, with the Office of the State Superintendent in December 2008.
Since joining the OCFO, he has served in different positions, including billing examiner, accountant, budget analyst, and budget officer. He has also worked for the Metropolitan Police Department; Department of Forensic Sciences; Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking; Department of For-Hire Vehicles; and the Commission on the Arts and Humanities. Most recently, he served as the agency fiscal officer for the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA), Office of the Tenant Advocate, and Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (now Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration). He was transferred to the Department of Buildings following the split of DCRA into two agencies.
Godie has a master’s degree from Maharishi University of Management (Fairfield, Iowa) and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Unity University (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia). He is also a certified management accountant.
