Curtis Lewis joined the Economic Development and Regulation Cluster in April 2015 as the agency fiscal officer for the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development and Department of Small and Local Business Development. Prior to joining the cluster, Lewis served as the agency fiscal officer for the District’s centralized fixed-cost portfolio under the Department of General Services and the Office of Finance and Resource Management. In this role, he managed the budgeting, execution, reporting and cost allocation for more than $400 million in energy services, rents and telecommunications for 87 District agencies. Lewis has also served as agency fiscal officer for the Department of Employment Services, Public Service Commission and Office of the People’s Counsel.
Prior to joining District government, he held several executive-level financial and operating positions in the private and corporate sectors, including chief operating officer for Ellis Development and manager of financial planning for Time Warner Cable.
Lewis holds a master’s degree in finance and real estate from American University, Kogod College of Business, and a bachelor’s degree in banking and finance from Morehouse College, Atlanta, Georgia. He is a fifth generation Washingtonian, a long-term resident of Ward 4, and a product of the D.C. Public School system.
