Office of Tax and Revenue Announces Second Annual Tax Practitioner's Institute

WASHINGTON, DC - The District of Columbia Office of Tax and Revenue recently announced plans for its second annual Tax Practitioner's Institute. The scheduled dates are Jan. 9 through Jan. 11, 2001, at 941 North Capitol Street, NE, Washington, DC. The event will be held on the 4th floor, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm daily.

The purpose of the Tax Practitioner's Institute is to facilitate better communication between the District's tax agency and the tax preparer community, in order to improve services to District taxpayers and increase mutual understanding of District taxation issue

Over 125 tax practitioners from the Washington, DC metropolitan area are expected at this year's event, where they will receive tips and advice on the 2001 tax-filing season. Information will include:

  • tax form changes,
  • the District's new Earned Income Tax Credit,
  • electronic filing,
  • direct deposit, and
  • paying taxes by credit card.
