Manas Mondal

Director, DIFS Support Center (Business)

Manas Mondal serves as director for the DIFS Support Center (Business) which is housed within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Financial Operations and Systems(OFOS). In this capacity, Mondal provides leadership and oversight for functions associated with supporting DIFS users across the city. Such functions are divided into four key areas: Organizational Change Management; Oracle System Applications – Analysis, Development, and Testing; System and Data Integrity; and Business Functional Analysis for each core module within DIFS.    

 

With over 16 years of experience in information technology (IT) management, Mondal specializes in leading large teams through Oracle ERP implementation, integration of financial systems, change management, technical upgrades, and financial data migration projects. He has provided hands-on consulting and leadership across commercial, public sector, not-for-profit, and Federal programs. Mondal has successfully directed multidisciplinary teams in implementing new-age technology features like Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI/ML) to identify deficiencies/patterns in financial data, detect discrepancies, and forecast spending.    

 

Prior to joining the OCFO, Mondal gained significant experience supporting Oracle-based systems, having worked as an Oracle Financials Senior Consultant and an Oracle Financials Lead for Spurgetech, LLC and Strategic Systems, Inc. Mondal also served as a Senior Manager with General Dynamics IT.    

 

Mondal has an MBA degree from ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad, India, and a bachelor’s in technology degree from Kalyani Government Engineering College, Kalyani, India. He was awarded first prize at the Global Social Entrepreneurship Competition 2007 organized by the University of Washington, Seattle campus, Michael G. Foster School of Business, and third prize by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for final year project coursework in Mechanical and IT Systems.
