The Office of Communications (OUC) is the custodian of records for audio transmissions and event chronologies for the Metropolitan Police Department and DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services. We are also responsible for preparing and reviewing audio for quality assurance. The retention period for audio recordings is three years; thereafter, they are automatically purged.
