Associate CFO, Public Safety and Justice Cluster
Angelique R. Hayes was appointed Associate CFO for the Public Safety and Justice Cluster in October 2007. Hayes directs the daily fiscal operations for the District’s public safety agencies. Hayes also manages the development and execution of the combined $1 billion operating and $147 million capital budgets for the 18 District agencies within the cluster.
Hayes is a 15-year veteran of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer who began her career in District government as a senior budget analyst and Branch Chief in the Office of Budget and Planning (OBP). During her tenure at OBP, she contributed to the office receiving its first “Distinguished Budget Presentation” award from the Government Finance Officers Association.
Prior to joining the District government, Hayes worked for the New York Shipping Association/ International Longshoreman’s Association as an auditor, where she monitored maritime policies and procedures and analyzed import and export documents on behalf of the longshoreman’s union.
Hayes is a graduate of Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in finance. She received master’s degree in public administration from the George Washington University. She is an active member of several non-profit community service organizations and currently serves as President of the Government Finance Officers’ Association of the Washington Metropolitan Area.
