Chief Information Officer, OCFO
Sagar Samant was appointed chief information officer for the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) in December 2012.
Prior to becoming the CIO, Samant was the director of the PMO in the office of the Chief Information Officer. Before joining OCFO, Samant’s work concentrated on organizational strategy, project management, Enterprise Architecture, Technology innovation, IT Governance, and organization change management in public, private, non-profit, and entrepreneurial contexts.
Samant has 18 years of experience in the business systems field, as a software consultant and in various management roles for organizations such as ADP, SallieMae, College Board, BankOfAmerica, McGraw-Hill digital learning, FINRA (NASD), and GTSI
Samant is a graduate of the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia with a Masters of Science in Management of Information Technology and received his bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from Shivaji University in India.
Samant holds numerous project management and technology certifications such as PMP, ITIL, and Microsoft Certifications.
