Biography 
George B. Dines Jr.
Interim Chief Financial Officer, DC Public Schools

 

George B. Dines Jr. was appointed Associate CFO for the Office of the Chief Financial Officer's Government Services Cluster in September 2006. Dines was appointed Interim CFO for the District of Columbia Public Schools in January 2010. He began his career in the District of Columbia government in 1999 serving as Comptroller for the District of Columbia Department of Housing and Community Development.

 

Prior to joining the District government, Dines served as comptroller for the Parish of St. Matthews in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles and controller for the South Central Los Angeles Regional Center for Persons with Developmental Disabilities.

 

Dines earned a master's degree in psychology from Washington University in St. Louis and a master of business administration (MBA) degree in finance from Southeastern University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Maryland.
